Dr. Hao Li

Founder & CEO

Dr Li is the CEO and co-founder of Nanova Inc as well as the primary inventor of FiberFIX™ technology. Trained as a materials scientist, he received a Ph.D. from the Stevens Institute of Technology in aerospace composites and also obtained post-doctoral training from Brown University in nanotechnology. He also served as a faculty in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Missouri.

Dr Li and his team of researchers applied existing concepts of aerospace composite technology and nanotechnology to create new materials for use in orthopedics.

Richard A. White, MD is an active board certified Orthopaedic surgeon with a sub-specialty board certificate in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. He was an assistant professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Missouri for over 10 years. While there, he was an MU team physician, filed patents, was awarded research grants, won teaching awards and also held an appointment in the department of Biological Engineering.
 
As an executive with Nanova since 2013, he has been involved with many aspects of company and product development, while continuing to maintain an active Orthopaedic practice.

Dr. Richard Lebens

Director of Orthopedic and Surgical R&D

Dr. Lebens, one of the first members in the Nanova family, has extensive knowledge of polymer nanocomposites.  This was the focus of his studies while pursuing a Ph.D. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering at the University of Missouri. Following his education, he began working at Nanova on nanofiber reinforced polylactic acid technology for orthopedic application and optimization of non-absorbable polymer ligation clips. He is the primary inventor of the Vas-Q-Clip®️ ligation clip, used in laparoscopic procedures for vessel and tissue ligation.

As the Director of Orthopedic Research & Development, Dr. Lebens lead efforts for submission of the FiberFix™️ line of devices for soft tissue fixation through the FDA. 

Dr. Lebens currently leads a team of highly qualified mechanical and production engineers in manufacturing Nanova’s orthopedic and surgical devices to ensure they meet top industry standards as well as customer demand.
